In our area they are recruiting for deputy managers.
The position involves covering a managers day off for which you will get paid £20 per day.
If you cover for the week then you will get £100.
The rest of the time you will be doing your normal postal work
I heard that 8 positions were available. 13 posties showed an interest but only 3 applied
I cannot believe anyone would want that hassle for £20

If people want to move into management i have no problem with that....good luck to them but if they think they can bounce back and forth and nothing changes....dream on.
You could earn that on OT in about an hour for a 3rd of a walk.

Used to be 30 pieces of silver! Just goes to show why the Business' Problems will not go away when they're employing such low paid Management. Perhaps these Big City firms have a point when they say they've got to pay Big Bucks to get the best Men at the Top. We pay Big Bucks and get Dickheads (or the female equivalent)

we have one in our section who only covers our night shift manager when he is not there but drives the rest of the time.he is not interested in doing courses or anything that would actually make him look like he is a manager but covers at short notice and even acts like a manger when he is driving.

I think i respect the deputies even less! Before i though they just did it for a big pay check. Honestly what type of person would take that kind of job for an extra £20-30?!
