like what, 2 doms, live minimum of 60 miles away, they share a royal mail van home, and come to work in the van next day.Unsure who ok ayed this, maybe its the sector operation manager, hes from the same city, they are all mates, so thats the best bet.!

This was talked about at our office before the park and loop was shelved. Personally i dont want to look out the window and see a bloody RM van sat outside my house, i like to walk right away from work.

Cannot see Moya sanctioning this little sneeky way of saving money for themselves, cut backs are a plenty in every office so only time will tell if their bosses are told of this scam, years ago Managers were NOT allowed to take vehicles home.

i know dv, its just starting in my do, but only a chosen few, if you complete, do extended dely, you may get the van home, if you work to your time, cut off, no van home?
Its like everything else, if your puss fits, you asslick, your ok, you cant get an answer fron no-one, nobody is resposible for eff all,and this is going on, with a div rep in our office for a few days, and the area rep ffs...........what next, ward and co?

I generally get the vans home, or take them back in for others,

Its about 14 miles round trip.

I had to sign a form, with all the vans I take home, my home address, wheres its parked, etc. This happens
about once a year.

I dont find it as any great advantage, other than a little saving on fuel, as like others have said you
have see it out the window, your responsible for it and its a bassa when its your day of the next day as
you need to make arrangements for getting a back or getting a lift.

i dont think he is moaning because someone is using an OMV to get between work and home...
but because the DOM(s) in question are using it to travel 120 miles a day at (im guessing) no cost to themselves in fuel, insurance or maintenance.

most guys i have known that get the use of an OMV have normally been the collection duty lads... and one or two select others... and in all those cases the drivers lived no more than 7 miles (max - one way) from the office...

lets be fair... if you lived 60 miles from the DO you worked at, how much do you think it would cost you for fuel alone to get to and from work each day...
and the OMV they are using is (im guessing) one of the ones used daily, as opposed to a reserve... so if they have a smash, or anything else... then the office is down a van for one of its duties, all because the DOM(s) dont wanna fork out £60 - £100 on diesel or petrol per week, and god knows what for insurance...
as well as landing the business with maintenance and repair costs, while getting no benefit for the £££ loss, and losing money on the residual/resale value of the van

the MC i work at is 14 miles drive from where i stay... if i want my job, then its up to me to catch a bus/train, get a lift or drive myself to work...
if these DOM(s) need to get to work then they should use a car... or if its a business requirement to have these clowns at this specific DO.. then im sure the business could justify the cost of a lease/rental car or a rail pass

That's exactly what it is.
I would bet money that this is not their choice...or their parent D.O.
Much as we like to criticise management and most of the time they deserve it...if you were moved to a D.O. 60 miles away due to "business requirements"would you be happy to foot the bill for the extra travelling costs incurred?
At least as you say they aren't scamming any money from the deal.
