Welcome to rmc. While I welcome information and input from prospective PEC members, you should be aware that canvassing for votes is against CWU rules, and may lead to the candidate being disqualified.

The only reference to canvassing in the ELECTION REGULATIONS AND CANDIDATES GUIDELINES is this...

6. The biographical details, election address and individual photographs for all candidates will be published and distributed with the ballot papers to all relevant members. Other than Branch publicity restricted to the membership of their individual Branch any other publicity or canvassing such as handouts, posters etc. for any or all candidates will be the responsibility of the individual candidate who shall fund any such publicity.

OK ft, but I recall that canvassing for votes, apart from election addresses, addressing meetings, and Branch recommendations, was not allowed in the past. Could have changed now I suppose.

There was a problem a couple of years ago where a campaign for Div rep on here to be elected (By his supporters not him) had to be pulled as HQ found out.
Now it's not my bag but i will respect the CWU's rules,i will ask on his Facebook page,or rather someone i know on there.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
