Post by Geezer »

To HR & HR Services Date: July 2010

Transformation Lump Sums

1. Following ratification of the Business Transformation 2010 Agreement, HR Services are authorised to make the Transformation Lump sum payments to employees in CWU represented grades within Royal Mail Letter, Logistics, Fleet and Maintenance Services and International covered by the agreement. This directive does not cover Group or RM Specialist Services.

2. Transformation Lump Sums replace the final instalment of ColleagueShares for employees covered by the agreement. Payment is linked directly to key transformation milestones, specific to each office, function and Business Unit, over the next three years. Key milestones are set out in the Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond agreement annex C

4. HR Services will be notified by the Regional Finance Director that payment is now due. The first payment is scheduled for early July 2010. This notification will include the office/cost centre concerned and the full-time lump sum amount payable. HR Services will assess payment numbers and advise the RFD of the intended date of payment (HRS will seek to process payment within 3 weeks wherever possible). HRS will also provide a download of people and payment sums for local sign off.

5. The lump sums will be processed on the following income codes and will be shown on the pay advice as Transformation Lump Sum. Payments will be non-pensionable. Transformation Lump Sums will be paid to all eligible grades in post on permanent and temporary contracts (excluding individuals who have signed up for voluntary redundancy). Casuals are not included.
Function Income Code

SPDO as per parent Office DBTLS
Processing PBTLS
RDC RBTLS

6. Transformation Lump Sums are paid pro-rata to contractual hours, plus additional hours paid at SSPR (Single Standard Pay Rate), paid in the 12 months prior to the date when Transformation targets are authorised as achieved by the RFD. Payments are not reduced for part years worked, maternity leave, periods of Sick no pay prior to the date of payment, nor for periods of short term substitution outside of an eligible grade. Employees who are temporarily promoted will be eligible for payment if they revert to an eligible grade before the end of the March 2013.

7. Employees must be in post at the date of payment. The only exception is MDEC function where it has been agreed that due to the nature of the MDEC Rationalisation Programme, employees who leave the function due to Voluntary Redundancy, Ill Health Retirement, Retirement or Early Voluntary Redundancy will be eligible for payment.

8. Employees on career break at the date of payment will receive payment of the most recent lump sum upon their return to work, providing they return to work within one year of the standard date of payment of the lump sum in their office.

9. Where employees transfer office and/or operational function either voluntarily or through business restructuring, future Transformation Lump Sums will be made in accordance with performance in their new office i.e. there is no facility to ‘lookback’ to payments in an employee’s previous office. All employees will be limited to a maximum of £1000 (pro-rata for part timers) for all employees.

a) On transfer, if the receiving office has already qualified for a lump sum payment and the transferee has not received payment from their old office or the total payment in the new office/function is greater than they have received in their old office the new line manager should notify HRS (email address to be added) who will pay the lump sum (or the difference between the amount the individual has received to that which has been paid in the new office).
b) On transfer, if the receiving office has not yet qualified for a lump sum payment but the transferee has already received payment whilst at their old office, the individual will not be due payment when the new office does trigger the lump sum payment, unless the receiving office payment is greater. (see point above)

10. CWU Unit, Area & Divisional representatives whilst eligible triggers have still to be agreed.

11. Queries should initially be flagged to the Contact Centre (5456 7100 / 0845 6060603), or emailed to HRSC Contact Centre.

I never noticed the date, saw july and that was that.
I received it yesterday attached to the email below.

===============================================================================================================================================================================================================

Dear Colleagues

Following a query around the £200 lump sums we received the attached extract from the RM Pay Directive from Lionel Sampson, ( Senior Policy Advisor ) which I thought would be useful for people.

This does of course lead onto another issue, namely other pay related queries.
If there are situations when there is doubt or you wish to question something, then ask for the pay directive.
The manager will have to provide it.

Any queries see your Area rep or contact the Branch.

Regards

Don't worry about it too much - its a document explaining HR process for the £600 and 2 x £200 and how they will administrate it.

You should be informed when you are due yours but basically its down to doing at least 2 revisions.
