ive just started to work for RM last week and so next week is going to be my first week actually working on my own. the manager asked me if u could work at another office weds and fri. i said thats no problem as i dont really mind. bit nervous about it and what i should do as im sure all offices have different ways of doing things. would best thing to do be to see manager as soon as i get to the office and explain ive only been working a week so its all still new and things?

Don't get conned into making your own way there though - arrive at your office on time and let them sort out transport there and back to your office at your finish time.

to be fair the office is closer to home then the one i normally work at...like 10 minute walk...

The answer is yes defo. They should know you are comming but look for a manager as soon as you get there and say I'm so and so from so and so Delivery Office. Tell him you just started in the job. They should operate along very similar lines there isn't that much difference to the job it's all about sorting mail then getting out and delivering it through letter boxes. It's hard to learn a new frame especially as a new starter so you will probablly only do a little bit of frame prepping and might even just be asked to tie up and deliver a round. If you are happy to do overtime don't worry about it. Do the first wednesday and see how long it takes to finish then simply book the overtime with the manager. You will get quicker at working after a few months. Always book overtime don't work for nothing it's not a charity. If you have to finish at a certain time tell your manager and remind him everyday.

You get 30mins paid break a day for 6hr contract or 40mins if fulltime. Take your break before you go out usually or if you go out soon after getting in book the break at the end of your shift. EG if you finish up at 2pm and haven't had any break then your finish time should be 2:30/2:40 on the overtime sheet.

yeah ok cheers. like i said in a previous post...no pay, no overtime. :-)
