Vending machines

Are canteen was shut down a few weeks ago, but we still have vending machines

Anyone know who is responsible now for stocking them, as it used to be done by the canteen staff?

There's a man in a van who comes round to fill it (if my office is anything to go by, less and less) but my advice is not to use them, go to your local supermarket and pick up multipacks of the things you like and store them in your locker/car boot/home, save you a fortune and at least you know it's not out of date

Agreed, I never use the machines and always bring my own brew stuff, f****d if I'm paying 40p for a cup of sludge

My partners firm provide a proper drinks station (bit like a starbucks machine) which is free all day. We get the very basic freeze dried crap and get raped on the price

I buy the 8 pack of Nescafe klix style cups from Wilkos and Home &Bargain only 99p and use their hot water

I worked at a place, and believe it or not I can't for the life of me remember where it was, but the drinks machine had tea, coffee(s), orange juice and coca-cola
freshly made from compressed gas and concentrated juice. It wasn't free all the time but was set to dispense free drinks at break time in the morning and afternoon and at lunchtime. I thought it was inspired because people wouldn't pay when they could get it for free at the "official" times - the one snag was the length of the breaks tended to drag on as the machine was on free for half an hour.

I think I been at my office too long, I actually like the coffee out of the vending machine and probably prefer it to almost any other coffee I have tried!

actually, they provide free drinks and food to make you stay there and work more, so you don't have to leave.

google, microsoft, valve etc all do it to "increase productivity"

That sounds about the same as ours,
i thought these machines were supposed to be subsidised ?? that must be a myth, it's a total rip off.
some offices have their own tuck shop, set up by a trusted member of staff who is prepared to go to Costco or any other cash & carry to restock,
could be worth u looking into, i'm sure it would be popular.

they dont replenish them ..they sweep the dust off the floor ..and put it in plastic cups ..ready for dispensing as tea n coffee ..once tried never to be repeated yuk

just buy the vending machine drinks from asda and poundland, rather than paying 45p a shot.

I'm going to go to asda or tesco and buy multipacks of crisps and chocolate and then put a notice on the vending machine with a price list and tell people to come and see me :-)
