Area manager visiting our office next week.Anybody got any good questions for him as he says he will answer anything and everything.

Why at a time when Royal Mail are leaking money like a hole in a bucket, why are they paying their chief executive a huge bonus and also managers like yourself a bonus this June, at a time when the value of colleague shares has fallen to zero, postman are being pressed to work harder,and without tools of trade such as P739s and Elastic Bands

Well you could ask him how much bonus he will be receiving this year

But i doubt he will give you a straight answer

summer lapsing was to cover more people off in the summer. what happened?

is there a problem with the geo route programme or is it the planners that are not wired up properly?

what is the payload and axle weights for a blipper?

are trolleys to become mandatory as per BT2010?

will we ever get weight off the shoulder?

am i within my rights to finish on time?

should my break be taken at the end, at the begining or in the middle of my shift?

now we are short staffed why are new starters being forced into working unpaid overtime while our DOM sits in his office eating sandwiches all day?

is there any chance of getting the £1000 lump sum from the BT2010 agreement any time soon?

why are start times being made later when the mail is coming in at the usual time?

how many managers in our area will be leaving RM in the next 12 months?

the list is endless, you will not get a straight answer on anything.

we had one of these with DSM about 6 months ago, the only answer he would give was "the company is broke, we have to pull........."

if he says those words take my advise and "pull a sicky".

Maybe you should take a moment to think about how the area manager probably got their job. More than likely they were so good at spouting bullsh** and cutting hours from the budget they were put in charge of multiple offices. Personally i would avoid all contact with them as to avoid any dissapointment from false promises!

Either that or make sure you have a fresh B&H form ready to give to them with your DOMs name on it! That will make your DOMs day!
