IHR Calculations

Post by mickl63 »

Im another newbie with no idea about how IHR is calculated.
Iv just had a letter to attend a meeting with my local delivery sector manager with a view to take IHR,(he does currently meet the medical criteria for ill health retirement with lump sum payment) the words from an atos doctor, Iv only been with RM for nearly 4 years, Ive been for a medical with atos and they advise that i am now appropriate for IHR with lump sum if no redeployment are available,With only being with RM and working permanent part time hours (25hrs per week) for nearly 4 years i am 48yrs of age what is the IHR calculation that i maybe entitled too? I have in that time been employed as a postman, But for the last 7 months iv been at a mail centre on rehab with no chance of being able to continue as a postman due to a knee problem, But i can full fill a role in which i am currently doing at the mail centre, I certainly do not wish to be medically retired but if i have no choice i would be grateful if someone would know and reply the calculations i may be entitled too, Thank You....

You would only pay Tax / NI on your outstanding leave. Make sure that your Area Rep is following your case or contact HQ , if you are a CWU Member that is....

I have been informed that a position could be found for me at the mail centre transferring me from delivery (which i can no longer do) to its late shift 5pm-10pm, Since i have been back to work now 7months on rehab at the same mail centre doing the same job 9am-2pm shift contracted hours, Do i have to take this late shift they are offering or can i refuse saying i need to be on 9-2 shift contracted hours if i dont want to take IHR which i dont, Or have i got no choice in the matter its rather late shift or IHR? THANKS

You could ask them if there is another shift available. However I think they have fulfilled their part of the deal by finding alternative work. I would only take this work if it suited you tho. Speak to the manager at the mail centre and see if there's anything else available.

Does anyone know if there has been a change in the agreement between RM group and UNITE-CMA AND CWU regarding IHR payment since may 2009? If so could someone please put a link to that document as im told that there has been a change to it, I do have the agreement for the may 2009 but not one for the amended agreement if there has been a change, Thank You.

Jeeeze,how many of these threads?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
