Rumours doing the rounds today in our do,of a new super delivery hub being created in the old mk mail center,encompassing all do,s within a 15mile radius.Just wondering if anybody had anything concrete on this or just another story with no substance.

exactly what Ive predicted for Edinburgh/Glasgow
close the 2 Mc's,create an MC midway(the old Motorola plant RM have used for xmas before would fit the bill)
then pull the city DO's into that old MC's

Their is no smoke without fire!
This rumour seems to be getting stonger .

I know nothing more than you ,and suspect only the very top know what is going to happen.

But look at the facts and see what you would do .The 2 smaller offices in MK excluding NP have got no space for all the vans.
1 office has even aproached Tescos Property co to use some of their land ,wich RM would have to pay for .
The 2 smaller offices in MK the buildings are in poor condition .

The old mail center still has a long lease on wich RM must pay till a new co moves in.
On paper it would make a lot of sense,but a lot of travel time would have to be built into the duties if it were to work properley.Going from the old mail center to the horth of the city is going to take a bit of time.

Another Rumour is the oldmail center is in a bad way and all the wiring has been ripped out by gypsies for scrap.
It could happen but not this year.

cant see any refurb jobs coming up kendo, they would just sell it and lease somewhere at this stage in the game..... wouldnt they?

That rumour has been doing the rounds since Motorola shut.
It's a non-starter.
HMRC have most of the building,the part Royal Mail lease is way too small for a EMC/GMC combo.
Now just half a mile down the road we have this...

All new and shiny and almost purpose built for for a super M/C.
Still think it's a non-starter due to the distances covered by GMC and EMC but you have to admit....that looks like it was built for somebody's distribution hub...
