Holiday Entitlement
Hya first time of posting, and im hoping someone can help. I started work on the 4January 2010 and was meant to finish on the 3 July 2010, i have now signed a contract that takes me up to 3 December 2010. S far i have had 6 days off and booked another 6 days the manager tells me i have another 6.5 days to book. Last month when the Royal wedding was on, my day off fell on that day andit also fell on 2 of the Bank holidays. I work 24 hours a week and just wandered how many days i was entitled to.

Re: Holiday Entitlement
I believe it's 23.5 days a year, so the 18.5 days sounds about right. You should get any bank holidays which your rest day fell on credited back to you including the royal wedding, ask for a copy of your holidays to see if they have credited the days, don't just take there word for itDICKIEG wrote:Hya first time of posting, and im hoping someone can help. Re: Holiday Entitlement
I have a couple of questions regarding holidays, so am posting in here in the hope that someone has the answers.
1. If a Royal Mail employee hasn't taken their full holiday entitlement within the year allocated, can those holidays be rolled over until the next year and if so for how many years can they be rolled over?
2. If a Royal Mail employee hasn't been given their full holiday entitlement for a number of years due to management error, then how far can the lost entitlement be back dated in terms of years.
3. Is there an option to be paid untaken holidays under any of the above.

Re: Holiday Entitlement
According to the Way Forward you can carry 5 days annual leave over - more with the permission of your manager.
In reality I know people with an accumulation of several weeks annual leave rolling over.
No you can't just get paid for it - unless you manage to wrangle some local agreement.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

No you are paid weekly, holiday pay is still paid weekly. Not in advance
