How many miles is your walk?

Just curious to see if anyone uses a pedometer to measure their walk. I have done this on three of mine and the longest is 9.6 miles which is actually the shortest to complete as it is all long drives and posh houses and takes about 3.15-3.30 depending on packet volumes and is mostly trolley with a bit of bag
The second is a run-down estate with lots of flats and gates and steps and a really annoying bit of lapsed on the end that you have to push the bigger trolley up to do and is 9 miles and takes 3.30-3.45 with lapsed and then a 20 minute walk with trolley back to the office (no one wants this round as you might imagine).
My current round is a van rural that is scenic and the people are friendly and is 7.5 miles walking and 20 miles driving and takes 4.15-30 hours on a good day and up to 5 hours on a heavy day. I have been on this one for over three months now doing sick cover and I have been doing some of the second walk on overtime after the rural so increasing the miles to over 11. Its lucky I have big feet is all I can say.

Motorised town duty It's a long story about revisions, strikes, being left to fight alone by the union and NI getting crapped on.

But I can still get it done in my time (mostly).

I used my garmin watch one day out of curiosity and i walked 6. 7 miles it was a heavy day p&l they must be big rounds if you walk 9 and 12 miles

Mine comes out at 27,000 to 29,000 steps which is just over 10 miles i think

You're not getting into a rut and getting bored with the same old duty then?

Done only mine and it ranges from 6 miles to 8.5 on a heavy day using runkeeper on my phone. Not sure whether it takes stairs into account though.

I like to do it just to keep my gaffer in his cage, the muppet.

If any of you have an Andriod phone there is a great free app called Cardio Trainer and uses gps pedometer and your phone internet to give your speed and distance. even shows your exact route on google maps! My walk seems to be an everage of 6.9 miles at the moment but that is for a pre revision city walk

I use something similar -
SportyPal - http://www.sportypal.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it will work on pretty much any "smart" phone that has GPS,

theres also Endomondo - http://www.endomondo.com/login" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

both of these track distance covered, time taken, average speed, etc, and they map your route so u can see exactly where u have been.
and neither use your phones internet, so u don't have to worry about exceeding your bandwidth allowance, they are free to download and to use.
