National strike

Can someone explain why numerous other unions are taking on the government, striking on the 30th of June over pensions. Whilst our union is completely limp on this subject. Our retirement age has gone up and our pension is worse to day than it was a few years ago. When will our union stand up to the pension bullies?

Maybe your right, i work in deliverys and have done so for the last 24 years, i feel i have the one job RM can least attack, but i still know a gun is ready and waiting to be pointed at my head, but this guy in a MC needs to take a reality pill, MC= dole que, wake up before it's to late my friend!

A great idea to stike,I am sure Rm would be fully for it ,just sit back and take a look at what we got last time we went on strike
IDIOTS like turkeys voting for christmas ,asbortion ,unlimited D2D , A DELIVERY ENANBELER,( BIGGER ROUNDS TO YOU AND ME ) we went on stike for all this.

Possibly another stike we might get a basic wage cut !

DOs are no safer then MCs. I wouldn't put it past RM to eventually franchise out deliveries

The reason we got such a s**t deal the last time was not because we went on strike but actually because we didn't strike long enough or hard enough.
Mostly because HQ didn't have the bottle...partly because some members didn't have the bottle.

people would like to, but did the strikes improve our conditions, royal mail loves it because it saves them money.
people just dont have the money or the motivation to do it.

Yeah i agree, read what i said and you will see that, but as a foot soldier you must see that i'm slighlty safer than a MC bod? :)

Life expectancy has risen by 5 years since I was at school and presumably so has the quality of health. Without raising the retirement age who is going to pay for the average extra 5 years of retirement per person?

It's too late for us, I'm afraid.
The CWU allowed Royal Mail to scrap our very good pension scheme, and replace it with a very poor substitute.
Those other public sector unions are attempting to nip theirs in the bud, so to speak.
