Post by music4essex »

I had a packet for someone today that they had to sign for . one of theses foreign one's where it has a red sticker on for signature,

anyway the guy came to the door and said in a very unpleasent manner what do yu want, me you have a packet to sign for handed the card over, he sihned it but never printed his name and shut the door , to which i said as he was you have to print your name, he shut the door, so i stood there and rang the bell, he opened the door and said what the f**k do you want
I said it is RM policy you have to print your name :arrrghhh , he snatched it out of my hand and scribbled his name , and then said f***ing have it and can you not read my name, i just oohh turned around and walked away, the card had some sQuiggle on it, you cannot read it, but he obviously got out of bed the wrong side, oh well :nana

I would not stand for that sort of behavious from a customer. I would tell my LM that I had been verbally abused and felt thretened by the resident and would refuse to deliver to them because I was fearful of my safety. Your DOM should be writing to this arrogant imbecile and telling him he now needs to collect his mail from the depot because of his harassment of RM staff. Call the RM bullying and harassment hotline if your DOM refuses to support you and you are told you must continue to deliver and take this sort of abuse.

That was hard work to read :arrrghhh !

I really don't understand why some customers are like that, your only doing your job by getting correctly signed for. There's so many firms that claim against Royal Mail for undelivered signed for items when all that's happened is that the half arsed postie hasn't obtained a signature and just rammed it through the letterbox.

A little something that might help you next time Essex, I always wait until I've got me little red book back ,and have a quick look, (and me pen!) before I let them them have the packet. Just a little habit I developed after a few dick heads signed in the wrong place etc. :Very Happy

If it's an OAP I'll often print their name in for them. Just to avoid confusion ,and speed things up a bit, I've had enough of the, "Oh I haven't got me glasses on...where do I have to write.....which number was it" type conversation. :d'oh!

When a customer pisses off their postie, there can only be one winner, and it sure as Hell isn't the idiot that upsets the person who handles their mail every day. :cuppa

Dead right Harry :Applause The Postie always gets the last laugh. May take a few years but you always get your pay back. Had a customer who had a go at me for using his "Foot Path" to cut the corner of two streets (I had delivered his mail and merely used his side path to exit in the next street). "This isn't a f***ing Public Right of Way!" Fair enough.

12 months down the line he stops me a few streets away..."I live at no whatever I'm expecting a really important letter but I've got to go to work etc.....". Simply gave him the "Sorry Sir I'm not allowed to deliver mail in the street" speech. Payback Time Asshole! :nana

Too bloody right!

I have a customer on my walk and her house has a big porch with an outer front door and an inner front door but where there is no letterbox on the outer door I always opened the outer door and delivered it through letter box on the inner door which was one of those backbreaking ones at the bottom of the door. The entire door was wooden so why on earth the letter box was at the bottom is beyond me, anyway; I spent a year doing this then come Christmas time there's an envelope stuck to the inner door "Merry Christmas Binmen" :hmmmm

I now just open the outer door and chuck anything for her on the mat.

Would make me angry that one! Especially that you are at her door maybe 6 times a week and dont get nothing and the binmen be there once a fortnight and get a tip! I have had my greviances with binmen! Had an argument with one last year who empied the bins and blocked each and every lane (im on a van rural) on my roads with the bin! I was mightly peed off when i had to get out and move 20+ bins out of the road, needless to say it hasnt happened again lol

The binmen might have done more for her during the year than just empty her bins. :nana  :nana

One woman asked me why I wasn't putting the mail through the inner door in her porch.

i told her I couldn't stand the smell from all the shoes in there.

She said the other postman did it.

i just shrugged and said I'm not "the other postman"

it's been really high in there some days during this hot weather, and there must be twenty pairs of sweaty shoes and trainers in there.
