hi guys i been to a interview today for a postman job in exeter but it says 3 months i asked would i be kept on after but the manger said he really dont no but he said people are leaving because of what going on rite now i really want to work for the post office but i am bit scared what to do but he said i can go around other postoffice if they need people please could you help me?

Normally people are kept on but its usually just on part time hours and they will just keep you on 3 month contracts. I wouldnt expect contracted full time hours or a permanent job!

NNNOOOO dont do it..its going down the hole now...newbies get s**t on big time.. the walk you have will be awful most prob the worst in the office..you will fight to get paid for the overtime you do (and you will do overtime ) and your stress levels will go through the roof...I did it for 3 years that was enough...on a good note though Exeter was one of the better offices (managers ok)...Exmouth was shite (managers arseholes)

I think you should stay where you are mate unless this move will mean more wages/better conditions for you.From your previous posts you say you are full-time with dpd , you will be swapping f/t for p/t with no guarantee of o/t to make up the hours .As a new entrant you probably will get the rubbish rounds as the best rounds are normally reserved for the old hands who get first dibs because they have earned the right through long service.

Anyway La Poste might buy us and then you can maybe move over full-time as an internal transfer.Good Luck with your decision.
