Spent the last couple of weeks looking for a new phone as my current one is nearly 2 years old and has started to do odd things. A close relative has decided to get married ('bout time mate!) and then theres this years summer holiday not to mention some birthdays and a new arrival.
Basically its hand in wallet time!
Has anyone else noticed the complete lack of additional earning opportunities there are around RM these days? Looking back I've normally done a bit of overtime here and there and always felt that I've had enough coming in to cover the expenses. I'm by no means skint or living hand to mouth or anything like that but now it appears to take that much longer to pay for things also its getting harder to justify those little extra's that cost relatively little yet really make a big difference to your quality of life.
As our pay has held steady the prices around have rocketed.... its all just so depressing that and the little voice that just seems to getting louder by the day whispering "Compulsory Redundancy!"
I have an HTC touch screen thingy which is prepay, it was one of the gifts I got for Christmas, with £10 on it - I still have £3 odd left on it. It's true I have no friends and I couldn't text to save my life...............well maybe I could if I had anyone to text.

Techniques by Moya Greene are to unsettle staff by cutting the o/t right down reducing your earning power, moving the finishing time to as late as possible etc etc, history will tell you that by doing these shifty manouvers staff leave the company which is exactly what she wants you and everyone else do, I'm only working here to annoy her

A friend seeing that O2 had the S2 at £399 thought it was a pricing error as everyone else had it at £500/£525 so bought 2 thinking of making some money on an un-opened one on Ebay. Next day O2 put the price up to £480. anyway he offered it to me for £399 and I've almost ALMOST accepted.
If you put more than £10 per month on in credit, your best bet, is to get a contract phone. That way, you can get a £200+ phone for free, every 2 years (sometimes less, depending on the company). If you use more credit, then you can opt to change the phone more often, by paying more per month. Or even get a much more expensive phone, including the latest Iphone. As far as I can see. The only advantage to the pay as you go ones, is if you rarely use it, or it's for someone too young to have a contract.

Or if you buy your handset, there are some bloody good sim only contracts out there, 600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited virgin to virgin minutes and 2gb internet for under a tenner a month
