30/06/2011. General strike.

I am a postal worker, CWU member and will strike on the 30/06/2011! Where do i stand? I know yet again HQ will fail me but what will RM do and what will the CWU do to protect my rights to withdraw my labour? Dingo could be good for this one?

Spoke to my REP and could lie and say i am sick he said was not a good idea. (fraud and when on strike i don’t want pay from the employer anyway) Just not turn in as pissheads do every week and lose a day’s pay and get a telling off for abandonment of duty by the dim dom when i come back! There must be a SENIOR REP with some sound advice that allows me to strike not rob RM and or be punished by RM?

For the record the CWU carried a motion which said it would lobby the TUC to call a 24 hour general strike and it would then support it. The 30th of June has not been announced as the day and as usual some other unions are dragging their feet.

So at this moment in time there is no need for any advice as there is no date yet for a 24 hour stoppage and personally I dont think the TUC has got the balls to call it.

Hi Brother, that was not the question was it, i wish to go out on the 30/06/2011 in SOLIDARITY with my Sisters and Brothers! We all know CWU HQ and conference and the TUC shout loud and act very small and will like the TUC since the "TUC 26 of march do NOTHING! My question was what punishment can i get from RM and what protection do i get from the CWU if i go on strike? If i am dicreet can i ask for unpaid special leave for "work issues?" to over come problems?

But if you are the only one on strike it isn't really a general strike is it.
And even you aren't on strike if you take special leave.

The sensible thing to do would be to go to work and then if your conscience is bothering you donate a days wages to some worthy champion of the oppressed masses like the IWW.

Got a feeling when friday comes and the redundancy problem has not moved away then the general strike of the 30th will be supported by the CWU, along with other days of action. Get the barrels ready to burn baby burn!!!
