Walk sequenced mail revision

Post by celerycelery »

What can we expect from a walk sequenced revision rather than the delivery methods one? By the look of ours we are getting the sww and longer delivery spans. The talk is rurals starting at 7.35am on Monday, Tuesday and saturday and town walks half an hour earlier. Last batch of sequenced mail arrives 8.30. Seems to me we could easily have earlier start times than those proposed.

They may claim they are but they don't have to be so make sure if you need family friendly then fill the forms out and make sure that it is dealt with correctly this revision lark is no bowl of roses and they business is only interested in saving money not what you have to cover at home but it will mean they will push for later starts hope you don't get some of the idiot planners we have got.

They can only do spans longer than 3:30 if they take the weight off the shoulder.

Trueblue, is the continued use of cycle walks regarded as taking the weight off the shoulder, or does it come under the existing rules of 3.5 hour walk.

To Quote Fishtank:
Isn't this where the...consideration can be given to varying the span length provided that genuine and demonstrable solutions to weight and fatigue are introduced...part of the agreement kicks in?
i remember at the time asking my Divisional Rep exactly what genuine and demonstrable solutions to weight and fatigue are without delivery methods but i never got an answer then so i doubt you will now.

Direct quote from BT2010. :left:
Does anyone on here seriously think i talk like this... :whistle
Delivery methods and equipment are key enablers to providing a span length which is realistic and achievable.
In units where agreement for change is required in advance of local deployment of the transformation project/delivery methods, consideration can be given to varying the span length provided that genuine and demonstrable solutions to weight and fatigue are introduced. :neutral:

I wonder what the Plain English Campaign would make of that? Perhaps, we could put it up for their Golden Bull Award?

It was not an answer per se - its a direct quote from 2010BTA...... not fair to blame fish for a passage in a document that many have not read and even more do not understand.

Can't argue with that in fact I said something similar back when the deal first came out and before it was voted on: http://overpaidunderworked.blogspot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also there are important parts of the Transformation Deal that are missing and need to be addressed before we vote on it. The most important part being the measuring tools namely BSI 100, IWT etc. The no limit of delivery span is also of concern if we do not know what the “menu” of options are. What the effect on no cap on D2Ds on the call rate will have on revisions. What the language about length of delivery span will have on the “Cutting Off” procedure.

I think to be honest for deliveries there is an abundance of questions but a dearth of answers
I just wanted to set the record staright and make sure everyone knew that FTs post was a quote not a personal statement.
