Hello I would like advice on going on holiday while off sick, I have had a stroke at work and have been off sick for 3 months, I have another sick note which runs until august and my doc said I probably won't be able to return then, I have had a holiday booked for late July , which has been booked for over a year, will I still be able to go on holiday and who do I need to speak to about I it,cheers for any advice you can give me.
On another point could someone advise me on sick pay, once I have used up the 6 months on full and 6 months on half pay what happens then, am I then on ssp only?

Sorry to hear about you having a stroke surely even rm would accept that a holiday could help improve your condition if not physically then mentally and reduce stress. Not sure what happens after the 6 months full pay 6 months half pay.

Think after that time you need to go onto ESA. Which was the old incapacity benefit? Not 100% sure tho. However, I'm guessing RM will look into IHR before this happens. Think you should speak to your line manager with regards to the holiday, can't see it being a problem as it's part of your rehabilitation :)

Before you speak to your Dom, have a quick word with your doc and get him to say a brak away will be beneficial in health terms to you, then Dom can do nowt about it legally. Get well soon Bro

Wrong ! We had this in our office. You must get the all clear from your own G.P. and get the G.P. to write a statement to this affect. R.M. do not have to pay your wages if you are not available for work.
