After a fact finding interview and statements made by myself and management, after 7days on suspension i was allowed back on ddelivery The dom said there will still be aconduct code meeting. The cwu rep wasnt in Saturday, what can i expect to happen?

Re: Suspended
I phoned my driver at 1330 and him to take back work i wasnt able to complete, which was left with a concierge and was worried for mails integrity. As mail was returned just before 2 i received suspension the next day.

At what point did you realise you couldn't complete and was a manager available to contact?tonyt450 wrote:I phoned my driver at 1330 and him to take back work i wasnt able to complete, which was left with a concierge and was worried for mails integrity. Did you have a witness?tonyt450 wrote:I told manager before i left office i wouldn't be able to complete.
Did you follow the guidelines?
3 DELIVERY
3.1 PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT
a) Where an employee feels that on completion of preparation he/she may experience difficulty in completing his/her delivery within the authorised time allotted, he/she should approach his/her manager as soon as possible before setting out on delivery. It will be for the manager to discuss any problem and advise the employee what particular action should be taken.
Did this discussion take place?
What action was suggested by your manager?
Was it recorded?
b) When an individual has requested assistance on delivery, but the manager feels that assistance is not required, this decision along with the advice given to the employee will be recorded and associated with the daily traffic volume records. The employee can have access to this record and may ask to see it prior to commencement of his/her delivery. In addition to recording the employee’s request, the employee will be instructed to ring his/her local manager prior to a specified time or as soon as possible if full completion of delivery workload within the time allotted proves not to be possible.
Did your manager refuse assistance?
Was this recorded?
Were you instructed to ring at a specified time?
3.2 AFTER COMMENCEMENT OF DELIVERY
a) If an individual is prevented from completing their delivery for any reason, it is essential that this is reported immediately either by returning to the office or by telephone (telephone costs will be refunded). A written record will be kept.
Did you attempt to contact your manager after commencement of delivery?
Can this be verified?
b) All employees should be informed of the local authorised arrangements, in writing, preferably in plastic card form if available.
Have you been informed of the local authorised arrangements, in writing, preferably in plastic card form if available?

Anything is possible in this business but it's very unlikely.tonyt450 wrote:I informed manager beforehand. Didnt phone office towards end of delivery. Have never been told what to do at end of delivery . Is it possible to be dismissed even though am back on delivery?
Without knowing the full facts it's difficult to say but on first look it would appear to be a very weak case for a manager to progress...not that something like that stops them.
Much will depend on what action was suggested by your manager when you first approached him and what action you took and whether the two can be made to fit.
WTF the suspension was about...i don't know unless there is more to it.
Speak to your rep and get your Area Rep involved.
Edit "try your best" is a refusal of assistance and must be logged as such.
Ask to see that paperwork....i bet it doesn't exist.

Re: Suspended
I have experience as a manager and can say that if they have brought you back to work then dismissal is unlikely but a conduct penalty may still be awarded .If you have told your manager before leaving the office then you have a good case for no penalty , i cant believe you will be dismissed , i would re-instate you at appeal if what you say is true .
