9 day fortnight ?

office not far from has have voted for this 9 day fortnight,after a few pointers anybody out there think its ok,what days do you work and what days do you have off etc,what about annual leave will this change etc.

week 1 mon off week 2 tue wed off week 3 thu off week 4 fri sat off. Mon tue sat 8.25 a day wed thu fri 8.55 a day. If you have 6 weeks off a year 30 days you go down to 27. But obviously on your short weeks you are only using 4 days leave. We love them at our place.

doesnt work like that, bloody hell, thats 9 days on, 9 days off. you would have to work 9 double shifts each day to get 9 days off straight after. jessicarabbit is right, except our 9 day fortnight is sligtly different. 1st week, off mon, 2nd week, off tues, 3rd week, off wed and thurs, 4th week, off friday, sat, sun, mon. bringing you back to the start again. each of our days are 8hrs 50mins long. on a saturday we start at 5am til 13.50. but we dont take our break on saturdays giving us a last letter time of 12.55, then 15 mins for going back to the office, then your 40 minute break starts, but obviuosly every body just fex off home.

we also have what we call a 3 over 4, some staff work 8 hrs 55mins monday to saturday for 3 weeks off the trot, then a week off. it works out the same as a 9 day fortnight, cos you have 6 days off every 4 weeks. its just a matter of personal preferance. ive done both systems, and beleive me, i much prefer the 9 day fortnight. it breaks your week up great. the shifts are too long in my opinion to work 3 weeks off the trot before you have time off, especially when the walks are almost 5hrs long. but as i said, its just a matter of personal preferance.

park and loop, the deliveries are timed at 4hrs. 45mins, but you nearly always hit 5hrs. the weight off the shoulder is a massive help. couldnt/wouldnt do it otherwise.
