Nothing new as far as i'm aware johnny.
The one on here is the one displayed on the CWU website.

Hi J P as you know the WPC role is evolving into a second or third string management role, championing all new ideas
and causes added to that you know hold a management certificate if you complete the new course, if you dont complete the mentoined course you are still accredited to WPC role but any new WPC's MUST complete

Our WPC was one of the worst posties i've ever worked with, utterly useless and now he gets paid to train newbies

No wonder they only last a week at best

Shows what a good one can do because ours is the exact opposite, excellent trainer, approachable, solid Union bloke and don't take any s**t. Our newbies seem to hang around a bit, some of them too long (inside meesage)

now thats more the number of new starts we have since that time

The one in our division is an RM poster boy in the making! Uses his own car, runs around like a madman, takes his summer lapsing and always takes shedloads of OT! He always says hello in the morning though (usually when passing me on the stairs when iam just arriving and hes already out the door!)

Wouldn't it be better to pay a WPC for each person he/she actually trained? I believe at the moment they get £30 per week for doing sweet FA!

On a similiar line, we are all moving into the New Revisions Stage within the Business. Is it true, as I'm sure I've read on here, that if you train 2 New Posties in a week you can "Claim" the WPC fee?

We've got so much Re-Training to do on the New Walks that most of it's going to be done by the Leave Reserves. After all they've done all the "Old" Duties which have now been chopped about into the "New" Duties. The present duty holders don't know some of the extra bits that have been added to their Duties!

That used to be the case here BUT the dim has put an end to that with loads of new responsibilities being added to the WTC i.e. formally managers work!

The powers that be wont allow us to have a WPC they come out with some fairy story about having to employ against that ? I don't believe that we will ever get past that as we have taken it as far as we can it does mean that when they push the revision in nobody will be trained on the equipment not that any of us really care as it is just another way of making us do more with less hours to do the work in.
