Return to work interview

Can someone please advise whether there is a time limit for your manager to do a return to work interview after a period off sick, and if an interview is not done or done late whether this has any effect on whether they can issue a stage warning.

Did you fill in a self-cert?
Did a manager hand it to you?
Did he speak to you at all?

If the answer to all 3 is yes you have had a RTW...

I was sent a form from the office to send in together with my docs certificates. Went back to work end of April and manager came in this week to do a back to work interview 6 weeks after return. Received a stage 1 in post next day.

If you were issued a stage 1 the following day then the interview you had was not an informal RTW....it was a formal attendance stage interview.
You should have been informed of this at the time and offered the option of representation.

Sorry Fish, what I meant to say was that I received the stage 1 interview letter which says I have to attend a stage 1 interview next wednesday which I can have representation.

I see.
Personally i would forget about the RTW and question why it has taken 6 weeks to deal with the stage.
That is an unreasonable delay.

As far as I understand,it should be done within 3 hours of returning to work or at the end of your shift at the latest.I returned to work on Tuesday 31st May after being off for 3 months and as my normal DOM was on holiday the relief DOM was unable to do it same day,however it was done 1st thing on Wednesday 1st June.

I've not received anything regarding a Stage 1 interview.

All the attendance procedure says is "as soon as possible" so i don't know where you get 3 hours from.

I do not no if this helps with your sitsuation.
You know they will give you the warning no matter what, but if you were to go off sick again before next wednesday then this absence is also counted in towards your warning.

Not that I would encourage you to take more time of work
