In a nutshell I'm off sick and received a letter asking me to come in and attend a meeting for a stage 2. As I was off sick I didn't attend. Now I've received a second letter asking me to attend again because I didn't bother to show up for the last one and that if I fail to attend this one a decision will be made with out me.
Can a stage be issued while I'm off sick? Do I have to attend this meeting before I'm fit to return to work?
What I'm worried about is if I have to attend this they will just issue the stage warning, they always issue them atm. This will force me back to work before I'm ready because I won't want to risk triggering a stage 3 upon my return. If feels like they are trying to give me a stage 2 while I'm off so that when I return a stage 3 will be triggered
try and get atos involved, they have been ok with me, although there are some horror stories, i think each office is very different, i was asked to see the dom while off sick, then i was refered to atos, who sent the dom a report and since then, the managers have been quiet.
As always its probably a good idea to get in contact with a union rep and see if they can be a witness. The managers are less likely to try to shaft you if they have someone watching over their shoulder!

A stage warning cannot be issued whislt you are still off. The interview they want you to attend is probably an assessment
to see when it is likey you will be coming back and if ATOS is needed. If you are too ill to attend your place of work then
state this and offer them the opportunity to either visit you or do the assesment over the phone.
If you do go to your work for the assessment then make sure you either have your rep or a witness.

Thanks for the advice, I've tried contacting my rep this morning but couldn't get hold of him he's a good rep to be honest and will be happy to go in with me if I have to attend. I'll ring him again first thing Monday morning, I've also sent him a text message explaining everything.
