Please could someone enlighten me as too what this actually means, i do not work for rm but do take an intrest, what if someone who has a 21 hr contract whos finish time for example is 11.30am does a ft duty one week that finishes at say 15.30 does he/she have to work till 15,30.

contracted hours are the hours you were employed to do , if you are on a 21 hr contract you get paid for 21 hrs. If you get put on a full time duty you will be paid for 21 hrs and the rest would be classed as overtime , although you won't go onto overtime rate until you have done 40hrs. RM like to use part timers on full time walks as they can flex the hrs and if you go sick or are on holiday you end up being paid only your 21 contracted hrs.

thanks for that, so would a ft have to go past his finish time if he has post left.

Only if they want to , over time is not compulsory ( yet ! ) at RM .

A F/T wouldnt have to go past his time. But would be suspended for Wilful Delay or the old chestnut lost faith in the delivery officer......

'Contracted hours' is used when paying holidays and sick leave, and sometimes overtime. Other than that it has no bearing on the hours actually worked.
