How many posties on here, start at the correct time?

Probably a quarter of our office start at the correct time.
And people wonder why the job is now rotten to the core.

i start on time everyday! why would people work for free?? using own cars and working for free has killed the job cz it gives a false sense that the job can be done!

A little bit less at our office.
It's a weird situation I have never been able to get my head around particulary as we are regulary briefed by CWU and Royal Mail about job losses. Yet despite this people still do it.

It would be easier for me to conform with the majority saving myself a lot of grief but I just can't do it.

i start on time everyday cant understand why anyone would go in early. saying that one guy in our office goes in at 6-30 but is not supposed to start til 9

was at a meeting a couple of months ago, when my dim was told not to let anyone start before there time, this has now happened, but he lets them come in early to do their d2ds, upshot is they now sort there walk-sort bundles into streets, GIVE ME STRENGHT!!!

We are a small unit and we all come in early at the moment. We have said that when (not if) they come asking for hours we resort to working to rule starting at correct time, meal relief, full two people vehicle checks, mail in back etc (you get the idea) But at the moment we are left alone and we all can finish early-er and get back home !

Ok I will be the first and openly admit to getting in about 20 min early.

I just dont like to rush first thing so i get in and grab a coffee and a chat on my frame. Hour wise Its swings and roundabouts but it prob balances at the end of the week.

However if they bring absorbtion back in then i will go back to my time as i did before.

When i get in 20 min early i almost feel late as plenty have already been there for half an hour or more .

I usually get in ten minutes early, hang my jacket on my frame and make a coffee but I never touch an item of mail until I'm supposed to, we do have some who come in early by up to half an hour miss their break and still complain when they're made to stay until their finish time after getting back to the office too early

Our whole office starts on their correct time as the manager banned anyone coming in early a couple of years ago! Most of us are in five or ten mins early,chat for a bit then begin right on time. I've got to say the one's that used to come in early often did so just to cover up their pppp(piss poor prep performance)

Surely it's got to be better for a manager to have a more accurate idea of duty times too,which is impossible when certain individuals please themselves when they come in! It's not called your "start time" for feck all ye ken!

Ive worked there 3 month and nobody starts on time .im like the other bloke, if i come in 10 minutes early i feel like im late. not enjoying this rm experience really.
