i got suspended for gross misconduct (wont go into details) otn the 7th of may,had the fact finding interview on the 9th of may at which i asked to be refered to atos i have had health problems in the recent past.heard nothing until yesterday and then get a phone call from ATOS with a date for an apointment (this was requested by a manager on the 8th 0f JUNE).now my next (2nd)meeting with the dom is on 14june.
so is this a glimmer of hope or are they just covering there backs?

atos have been ok, with me, its better to have a face to face with atos than just a phone call interview, the managers do take health concerns into account, the job has been made more stressful, due to cutbacks

no i mean is this a glimmer of hope i wont be sacked as why would they request an atos apointment if as i fear the decison has been made.

Unfortunately the way things are probably not , they'll just go through the motion

Most of it will depend on what you have done and lenght of service.

Sorry but it could be either.

1. They may suspect that the DDA may be playing a part and have decided to check just in case - hence the referral.

or

2. Depending on the nature of the referral it may just be a tick box exercise that the manager is following.

As you asked to referred to ATOS--I wouldn't build your hopes up just yet---but, as another poster said,if you can say what your charges were, someone nay be able to help.

i was not suspended for health problems but it was in my opinion my problems that caused me to do what i did,but i dont want to go into details as my cwu rep is taking me thru it and he is pretty experianced so i hold out a little and i mean a little hope.i feel that my dom has already taken the decision but is just going thru the motions and my 40 years and clean record will count for sweet F all.
