'Competative Pricing'

Post by Lounge Lizard »

I've just seen an advert on this site for 'Competative Pricing' with 'Transglobal Express' :Very Happy
Randomly entering a 'Packet' sized item weighing 1.7kg sent within the UK it comes up with three quotes ;
Road
1 2.00 £5.00 £9.94 + vat £9.94 + vat
TNT Next Day
1 2.00 £5.00 £14.33 + vat £14.33 + vat
UPS Express
Air 1 2.00 £5.00 £23.84 + vat £23.84 + vat

No mention though of Royal Mail 'First Class Mail' which would have been £6.42.

RM should really be"Aggressively" trying to discredit these Shite Competitors. Using advertising on TV etc, when was the last time you saw a RM advert?

The example you give proves the point Lizard: Joe Public will go with them because he doesn't know any better! To add insult to injury TNT will probably just dump the parcel at the nearest RM Depot and let us deliver it for them! :arrrghhh

I've started my own campaign of fighting back by directing any competitors, who ask me for directions, the wrong way (Preferably up a farm track into the middle of nowhere) :Very Happy That's our Business they're nicking! I know we all moan about having a lot of mail but I bet we'd be moaning even louder if we had No Mail.

This is great until you get up to a parcel weighing 24kg...........................

About £19 to send with Royal Mail, HDNL will deliver it for £7.24

Kinda sums up the company we work for wouldn't you say?

^ absolutely!

I have to send something weighing 24kg recently and parcelforce wanted £38 to pick it up and deliver it. I used a firm called united parcels and they came and picked it up and delivered it for £12!

Thing is - they used the parcleforce network to deliver it!

As in, it was picked up nby a guy in a white van then taken to my local royal mail depot then on to its destination by parcelforce lorry and was delivered in a parcelforc van. WTF is going on here

It's all down to volume, white van man gets a massive discount from Parcelforce for providing them with lots of parcels, you are only sending one parcel so pay a premium.
