xmas hours

A question for you lot, its that time of year again? Xmas will be soon upon us according to the catalogues weve been delivering recently? My question is, are we able to refuse the xmas extra hours and just work our normal hours during xmas?

Someone at work said if you give them enough notice and you dont book ot at all throughout the year, you can justifiably work your scheduled hours only. Please enlighten me.

I don't do OT at Christmas (well mainly none) and I don't get much hassle, just tell them that you won't be doing it around the end of November and that should do.

I have not done xmas pressure for about 5 years,along with at least 10 others :cool .
We put it in writing about 3 weeks before it starts and that seems to be good enough.

There is no contractual or compulsory overtime at Royal mail...Christmas or otherwise.

A few did not do it last year following the snow the year before and boy did they get it right. :left:

Since the revision with deliveries hitting 4 hrs + i for one wont be delivering till it gets dark, they can stick it. :dance

I dont do any overtime for royal mail during the year, then at xmas i give my manager a letter saying that I cant work beyond my time at xmas either.
His face tells a thousand words :Very Happy
