Office closure and relocation?

Just heard that a near-by delivery office is going to close and the staff will work from a larger office, I understand that they will get travelling expenses or may be asked to keep their vans at home? As this is a rural office is there any rules on how far you could be expected to travel?
I've got a horrible feeling that we could be next so any info would be appreciated,

We got moved over 10 years ago, we got 3 years of travelling time money. travelling time is the time it takes from your current place to new place. It might be different now tho
