Performance charts
heres another thing we are forced to take part in, a sorting "test" -challenge.
Different people, every day, one minute tested,on the ips, and theyve put up a league table, with mr a at the top, sorting x amount, right down to mr z, whos sorted this amount.
Can they do this?

Re: Performance charts
Absolutely NOT !!!
The one minute test is the agreed method for evaluating sorting knowledge and speed, but is for management information in order to provide coaching aimed at improvement of method and abilities - the result should be as private as your personal files and to display for public consumption is exactly as Joeboy says - bullying and harrassment.

Tell your Manager that you'll have to withdraw from his "Sorting Challenge" because you've been taking "Performance Enhancing" drugs to help you get around your Duty! Coffee & Power Bars
Is this guy taking it seriously or is it just a bit of fun? Perhaps he's getting into the mood for the up-coming Olympics!
We could have lots of competitions based around the office...the 50 metre dash to the Tea Machine.....power lifting (Trying to lift Two Bags someone else has prepped for you)......Cycle Racing for those that still have bikes.

Re: Performance charts
We had a similar thing posted on a wall regarding performance whoever had the most customer complaints went to the top of the list with the least complaints at the bottom, this was soon taken down after union intervention .

Rowing for when your walk is hit by a flash flood.
Boxing for when the office banter gets out of control.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Performance charts
The only people who moan about these performance charts are the ones at the bottom.

Re: Performance charts
No I would refuse wherever I came. Its degrading, divisive, promotes B&H, does nothing of a training value, is against Union ethos and is nothing beyond being a possible power trip for weak managers who feel safer behind a clip board rather than using acceptable managerial practices to motivate and train staff.clashcityrocker wrote:The only people who moan about these performance charts are the ones at the bottom.

Re: Performance charts
What happens if you have a good day and you're at the top,a week or so later you're at the bottom for what ever reason,a chat with the screw, performance issue, conduct code!

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
