... just as I'm arriving at DO phone rings ... "Can you go down to (neighbouring office) ? Someone's phoned in sick". Off to neighbouring office - another "blind walk" - hunt down Walk Log for clues (not many) and pouch box keys (quite a few). Get pouches onto york for driver - and off we go ...

Get to final pouch box at 1430 ............... none of the keys on the jailers bunch will fit it

Phone (neighbouring office) - no reply (apart from a stunted "Pl ..." message after two minutes - assume dodgy ansaphone so leave what might be a message explaining all ..

Phone normal office ... goes to ansaphone - leave similar message to above.

Pouched off at nearest Post Office and b*ggered off home - to find letter from RM - contract HAS been extended - but only for 3 months this time (rather than the 6 that was 'last time'). Got loads of guff last week regarding joining the pension fund (now I've done 12 months). Is it worth "losing" 3% of my 24 hour dosh when only on a 3 month contract - overtime appears to be drying up as well.

God knows where I'm working tomorrow - but I'll have to go to neighbouring office (by bus) first to drop off pouch keys - and find out what's what regarding the "undelivered bag" - and thence to normal office (by bus) - where (knowing my luck) I'll probably be told to go back to neighbouring office.

Why dont you go to your normal office first thing in the morning and then give the keys for the other office to a manager who can then arrange for a driver to take them back to the neighbouring office? saves you a lot of hassle.
