holiday entitlement when resigning

Hi. Wondered if anyone could help me with this.

I've been working for Royal Mail since the beginning of Feb, and I am soon to be leaving to go travelling. By the time I leave I will have worked 5 months of a 25 hour contract.

The question I have is regarding holiday pay entitlement. I actually have a week of booked annual leave for next week but have opted to work it instead, under the presumption that I will get my holiday paid when I finish work altogether. However, will I only be entitled to a proportion of the 4 weeks seeing as I will have been employed for less than a year?

You will be entitled to 5/12 X 22.5 days.

Of course!!.... what makes you think that you'd get the full 4 weeks for only working (less than) half the qualifying period? are you expecting to get a full years pays as well? My understanding is that if you'd worked for 6 months you'd be entitled to 2 weeks holiday i.e. pro rata.
