Wear your hat and the long sleeved shirt, that along with long trousers should stop the sunburn and drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration (and plan your route to stay in the shade).

Now as for sensible things................sorry, I don't know, maybe we could say it's too hot to deliver

Loved the advice they gave a few years back, "Try to avoid Delivering during the hottest part of the day!" Yeah Right

Probably find no-one's got any comeback Cumbria because on their Big TVs (God knows how much they cost the Business) they always give you a weather Forecast, so they'll probably say, "We told you it was going to be hot!"

There is no stipulation for your employer to provide you with sun cream. They are already providing the best form of sun screen, i.e. long sleeved shirt and wide brimmed hat; (and have at least provided you with a vessel for carrying water).

The rest is down to your Health & Safety Rep to train/advise you and your colleagues on how best to combat heat stress, dehydration and skin damage due to the sun.

Question?: Why did they make it a Dark (Heat Absorbing) colour and not say White? And how can you fit one under a cycle helmet?

Actually under *normal conditions, a black item of clothing will actually do a better job of keeping you cool than the same item in white. (* a little wind and not tight fitting)

Talking about delivering in the sun, our office is on the south coast and we are able to go back to jan 26 since we last done a delivery in the rain.and in a strange sort of way we miss it.

yes im sure, we are in sussex by the sea and we are protected by the south downs,and our del span is 3 hours- 3hours 20 min,so its not that hard to believe.

I beg to differ try wearing a BLACK T-shirt next time you go to the beach. I bet you find it a damn sight hotter than a WHITE one. Ref: Loss of sodium I'lItake my Muckers advice, who was in 7 Para RHA, just add a spoonful of Sugar and one of Salt and it works wonders!

Damn sight cheaper than all these Isotonic Sports Drinks.

As for not having an Issued waterbottle whats wrong with Recycling one of the thousands of Plastic Water Bottles you find lying about?

It rained(hailstones) during delivery here the other day, first time in months. The past few Sundays it has rained but thats because its our day off
