Fact finding interview
Last week i had three lots of d2d which i did individually, i went sick on wednesday leaving one lot left to do. On my return to work i was asked why i didnt prep my d2d together and take 20% a day to which i said that i didnt have time to prep them together so did one lot per day as they were only single leaflets which works out that i delivered 66%. I have now been asked to attend a fact finding interview to establish what happened. Are we not allowed to deliver d2d individually? I cant understand why i've been called in as i delivered more than the required rate.

Re: Fact finding interview
Unless your office has had specific instructions saying you must prep & deliver 20% a day, which everybody adheres too you have nothing to worry about going by your post.
BT2010 agreement DOES NOT state you must prep & deliver 20% a day.
In fact it clearly states you can manage delivery of them yourself.
Only small problem I can see is if you did not fill in the d2d control sheet before going sick, so the person who took over your duty & the Dom knew what d2d had been completed.

Every office will have it's own version of the agreement, and that's where a lot of the problems arise fromgb93 wrote:Unless your office has had specific instructions saying you must prep & deliver 20% a day, which everybody adheres too you have nothing to worry about going by your post.

As long as you adhered to your local way of doing things you'll be fine, but i know that our DOM would never be agreeing to do one D2D per day.
So if you've got six lots one week, that means you've got a 100% call rate everyday. This is going to push you over your time every delivery, and going to cause breaking off or booking overtime ......... and in the DOM's eyes, unnecessarily so.

• Whilst D2D workload will be planned on the basis of spreading it across six days a week delivery employees will have the ability to manage the delivery of the items themselves on the proviso that all items are delivered and the delivery specification is not compromised
If a member was put on to that duty on the Wednesday and came on here bitching that the duty holder hadn't touched one of the D2D's...what advice would you give him?
Just get on with it?
Managing delivery is fine but if you go off sick...someone else has to clean up the mess.

Re: Fact finding interview
Thank for the feedback. Our office has a policy of 20% a day but no specifics on how we prep. I would of been better off doing 40% rather than the 60% that i did, like i said these were single leaflets i thought i was leaving less work. Find out next week what will happen.

Do 25% of the 1 left, and if this causes you to go over your hours cut offfishtank wrote:gb93 wrote:Unless your office has had specific instructions saying you must prep & deliver 20% a day, which everybody adheres too you have nothing to worry about going by your post.

If happened to personly I would not be twisting, would much rather do a 25% of 1 rather than prep & deliver 20% of 3
But then some twist more than others

Re: Fact finding interview
So do you always get separate control sheets for each D2D? Even if there's 5 or 6?If not how do you keep track for anybody covering your day-off? To be honest doing it the way you do it seems to be giving yourself a lot of extra work. Also I don't understand how you 'don't have time to prep them together'. The fact is that D2D's are now classed as part of your mail and prep time is allocated the same as prep time for your other mail. You prep your mail, you prep your D2D's and if you've got too much you work to your contracted finishing time or you claim OT.

Re: Fact finding interview
I think that might be why there is a fact finding interview in the first place gb.gb93 wrote: Do 1/3 of the 1 left, and if this causes you to go over your hours cut off![]()
Why didn't he just prep the 20% and cut off?On my return to work i was asked why i didnt prep my d2d together and take 20% a day to which i said that i didnt have time to prep them together so did one lot per day
Why should it be left to whoever cleans up the mess?

Re: Fact finding interview
Just going off what he put in his 1st post, I gave my answer based on that as far as I could see he had done more than the minimum & I personally don't think he left a mess to tidy up.
Now he put in his next post his office had a 20% a day policy which I covered off in my reply.
So now can see why a fact finding interview taking place.(Maybe if overtime or cutting off was caused )
But again going off purely what has been posted, I personally think a fact finding interview is a over reaction, when a quit reminder of the office policy on d2d would of sufficed.

Re: Fact finding interview
Quite a dilema this which beckons me to say "just do what you are told to do" from now on that is, there is a perge on posties especially with full time staff, R.M will find the slimiest and most deceitful way of getting rid of full timers full stop, do not give them any ammunition to even moan at you never mind anything else, bring your questions up if in doubt at WTL and if you do not receive WTL send an email to Moya Greene, just watch WTL appear the week after as these bosses are on a big bonus for giving the 30 minute WTL sessions.
Hope all goes well for you matey.
