crap HCTs

My office has been using HCTs & the smaller trolleys for 3 weeks now. Today a tyre came off my HCT, and, anticipating no help from the office, I finished the round anyway. Yesterday a lock broke - it just seemed to fall apart, with no prior warning, so I couldn't lock one of the containers. AND one of the wheels was spinning like mad. That was eventually fixed, though now the opposite wheel spins instead!

I've heard that all the HCTs have had these problems. Yesterday my floater was on a different round and his key broke inside the trolley, so he couldn't even open it.

These things are meant to last years and they're breaking after 3 weeks?? I admit some of the problems could be from overloading the trolley, but since we don't have bag drops anymore surely management should have foreseen us overloading it?

dont overload trolleys.

any problems with them just pass the book to management, its their job to manage.

they are garbage. i have gone through 4 of them in the past 5 weeks the wheels kept falling off.

Wheels coming of HCT deliveries, wheels coming of on collections, only need one the CDVs to do the same and we've got a Triad.

I've heard from delivery guys my way that the keys and locks of some of them trolleys are absolute s**t, just very flimsy metal keys which snap so easily. They may as well order new bikes for all delivery staff.

Must be the new HCT's.

The older ones take a right pounding and stand up to the task well enough. Of course a handle or lock will break every now and then, but the trolley itself is bloody sturdy given how much mail it carries!

yes they were the new ones. there was nothing wrong with the old one i had. but rm with all there money saving said it needed to be changed for the new one.
