No - stage 1 and stage 2 can not be appealed. However, some I have heard on here have contemplated a greviance. My advice would be the same as DGP - file it away and use it if you ever get to a Stage 3 dismissal.

Although you cannot appeal the decision to apply a stage warning you can appeal the procedure that got you there in the first place however......

3. RETURN TO WORK DISCUSSIONS

When someone returns to work from absence the line manager must aim as soon as possible to speak privately and out of earshot of others with the person in a non-threatening and supportive way outside formal procedures with the following objectives:
 to acknowledge the employee’s return and show it is valued
 for the employee to air any concerns
 to see if any help is needed and provide direction to encourage regular attendance
 to ensure absence is appropriately certified

As you can see from the guidance contained in the Official Attendance Procedure the RTW does not have to follow a formal interview process so if a manager slides over to you,asks you how you are and gets you to fill in a self-cert(if required)...he has basically ticked the boxes on the RTW...which makes it a very weak point to appeal on.

I'm on a stage two. I filed my stage two letter in the same place I filed my stage one letter. In the f***ing bin.

the most important thing to remember is NEVER SIGN ANYTHING as doing so means you agree with the procedure and it also pisses the managers off.

My one and only r/t/w was conducted whilst an engineer was in the office! I asked the DOM for privacy, and got none!

THIS IS WHAT I THORT only this is the 2nd time 1 stage warning , the first i managed to get them off because no RTW had not been conducted , lucky me this now when it gets messy ,.
this time they have brought a same grade manager in from a other branch to conduct the stage interview .
