office closing..info required..who gets shift priority at ne

hello my office wil be closing this year and i wish to stay on the same shift at new office, i am aware that priority will be given to those staff who have been on the same shift for the longest period of time but i was wondering whether despite being on a rotation( mixture of lates and nights) would this also count? thanks in advance for any info.

what you mean closing and goin somewere else ,it depends really our you moving in with someone else or is it just your office etc.

this I think is covered in the MTSF in its various disguises. Pop over into downloads where we have them and have a peruse. Would try and track it down for you but I am off to work now.

The criteria Royal Mail will use is MTSF2. So if you currently rotate than they will average your allowance. MTSF2 means if the duties which are available are on the late shift and attract an allowance then it is based on how long you have been in reciept of the allowance and not how long you have been in the job.

If you have been in reciept of the allowance since the Way Forward came in 2000 then they can only track back the allowance to that point and therefore it will then be based on seniority.

In your case I do believe that they will average your allowance over the year and if you did nights and lates than you should be ok to pick a late duty.
