All we keep hearing from CWU at present is mail centers closing,and compulsary redundancys and possible strike action over this.

National Media reports of another pssible Postal strike over pay ,3rd one in 4 years.

Local Media reports ,of lots of delivery problems caused by new ways of working,RM and CWU both agree its just teething problems till things get settled and Posties get used to new rounds.

The Walking Postie just seems to be getting shafted from every direction,
Unlimitee D2D voted on and agreed by Mail center staff I understand.
Bigger walks ,Park and loop, more aggresive Managers despite the agreement saying more Managerment understaning of issues(or similar words)

Where is the voice of the walking Postie shafted on a daily basis.
On hear lots of Guys saying how bad P and Loop is and various problems ,The CWU keep telling us about how bad it is in the mail centers.

Their does not appear to be a national voice for the walking Postie ,may be we have it so much easier than the mail center staff,its so good for us having unlimited D2D on big walks and having our start time and finnishing times keep altered every month.

No, no, no and thrice no.

I don't know where this rumour comes from - 117, 073 were entitled to vote in the ballot -- http://www.cwu.org/ballot-results-2010.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Outdoor section of the CWU represents over 100,000 http://www.cwu.org/royal-mail-deliveries.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
All our members in Delivery Offices, including SPDOs, are represented by Bob Gibson, Assistant Secretary, Outdoor Department

With well over 100,000 members working in this part of the Royal mail business, it remains the single largest group of members within the CWU.
So even if you overestimate the non delivery members to be 17,063 and also say that they all voted yes - that still leave 46,955 delivery members who accpeted it (64,018 - 17,063). Indoor members can never outvote Outdoor members unless the turn out is around 25-30,000 and then only if they all vote the same way.

The rest of your post I tend to agree but would qualify that in Deliveries although we lose duties regularly and the workload is reaching abusive proportion, its rare that we actually lose bodies except through EVRs and natural wastage .

The MCs do seem to be facing CRs as claimed by the Union. But I also think that though they have less members , they do have greater concentrations of them, and they do seem to be getting their message across better than we are in deliveries.

I tell you why that got voted in.....Its because the majority of postmen are muppets and when offered a bit of money in front of them they will sign anything. And when I say money we are talking less than £200 for a lifetime of extra work. Complete and under morons! No doubt some of you reading this are thinking that was me. Well I congratulate you. Where is your £200 now? Probably spend it on a night out somewhere claiming your rich or something. Not the brightest of workforce, lets be straight about this!

I voted no.

As TBT said the blame for bt 2010 getting voted in is because some members in deliveries see the £'s being offered as a bribe and fall for it.

That's not what TBT said.
The bribes and £s were offered to all functions.
The Business Transformation Agreement was at the end of the day accepted mainly because that was the union recommended....and no viable alternative was offered.
To blame it on one function is ludicrous and divisive.
Not really what we need right now.

Most people I know just voted yes because they didn't want to lose money striking, they were given "its the best we can get" from the CWU and so voted yes

Fact is almost 99% never read the agreement at all, and now that D2D's, late Saturdays & Park 'n Loop are here they are P+%$ off - " I never voted for this " they say

Unfortunatly, YOU DID !

Next time READ THE small PRINT

And if its not good enough, have the guts to reject it !

If the CWU had had the last deal rejected, they would have gone back into negotiations again and got a better deal

OK we would have to have stopped on the gate a little longer, but RM would have seen that we were not just going to accept any old crap

We all know that if delivery staff all voted no BT 2010 would not have gone in.
Granted the union recommending a yes vote will have swayed some voters but some local rep's must have told members what the agreement meant for deliveries.

I'm not blaming any function really, i blame individual members for either
1 Not voting
