help needed

I have foolishly agreed to my wifes request to come to her school to tell a bunch of 5 year olds about Royal Mail. Trouble is I have no idea how to structure the talk for kids that young. Do RM provide any aids for learning or school info packs?
Failing that has anyone got any good ideas I can use?

Run! I got to do this in a school on my walk... it end up with the kids asking questions for like 2 minutes like how many letters do you carry, wheres your cat! etc THEN got the teachers questioning me Gestapo style on why they got mis-deliveries (at home) how many packets had disappeared not turned up etc etc... it was just plain embarrassing. Never again!

The 5 year olds will be fine just think along the lines of Postman Pat. You could talk about the journey of a letter from postbox to delivery, i think RM had Lenny the Letter ?

I know from a while ago when we did kids coming to the office that the teachers can be hard cases and ask lots of shite questions.

You should enquire if they have a projector so you could take some pictures of the sorting office and show them to the kids. Showing how we get everything ready could be quite interesting. If you have m/c facilties at your DO maybe go and sneak some pics of the sorting machines as well?

That's a great idea, thanks. We don't have m/c facilities though so it will have to be pics of the very unphotogenic staff!

Don't keep them in a stuffy classroom, take them out on your round, their first experience of 'work experience'.

Some might even be keen enough to do the Door To Doors at addresses for which you have no proper post.
