Park & Loop halted on Saturdays

1st week on Park & Loop for 5 van share rounds out of 70 rounds in our office.
Couldnt start on Monday because Union reps day off so couldnt be trained on using the new trolleys.
During the next 4 days lads were working to their time.
Today Line Managers scared of culling asked them to go back to their bikes.

whats to say the "new" new business plan wont bring back some bikes?

if it were to happen they will simply add more delivery points to your duty.

Here in Huddersfield, WALKING -------------- Hills are a killer and the bike gets in the way.

We don't have bikes.
What would our choice be?
Walking for 4hrs with a bag on our back or using trolleys and a van.
And we are the majority.

Trueblue Terrier an Fishtank,havent you got or had any bikes and pouch drops at all in your areas?Its pretty rural where I am and park and loop means more walking than delivering on most of the duties

surely all the old bag drops have been removed from service?

IB would have a field day if you were leaving your pouches in unsafe locations

Safe Drops and Pouch Boxes - Yes. Bikes never ever had.

and the hills are killers - would you ride a bike up this hill, or even down fully loaded - just check out the house top floor of one is level with ground level of another only 5 houses away.

Bloody ell Trueblue I see what you mean. To answer Pickanames questions we still have pouch drops if we wanted them.We used sub post offices and had pouch boxes on posts concreted in to pavements usually next to collection points.We also used home addresses if they were secure.I see HCT trollys and golf trollys have there uses ie town areas and housing with short paths or hilly areas but surely one size doesnt fit all? Also when youve done every walk in your own office over the years it niggles you to have a guy with a laptop tell you the best way to do it when you know hes wrong

I can't be 'uddersfield 'cause that's up North like
but you'd be surprised where a bike can take you.
