Done 21 years and got a letter today asking if me and a guest would like to be a guest for a night of racing at Lingfield. Lovely, free transport from certain mail centres, Yes! free 3 course meal, Yes! then the racing and then a Rat pack band tribute and then transport back. Well I read it and thought "great a free night out with the mrs".
Then it dawned on me, This must cost an absolute fortune to lay on and we are supposedly broke as a company. No overtime allowed in our office unless its sick abscence no £400 + £200 for the walk sequencing stage in our office and lastly and most importantly no colleague shares!!!!!
So where the hell has this money come from???????
Its a complete farce!!!

To be fair,if you was offered 'nothing'...
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Great to see some people with such admirable principles and strong moral fibre! Did you send it all back to them with a refused sticker on it?batfink30 wrote:Done 21 years and got a letter today asking if me and a guest would like to be a guest for a night of racing at Lingfield. Used to be a dinner dance and a night in a fancy hotel so they're definitely cutting back. Last guy from our office who went got food poisoning. Enjoy.

last year went to dinner and dance, and the year before as i have been with royal mail for 21 years and husband was worked for 22 years. will say it was all free transport and meal and some drinks, found a manager keeping drink tokens for themselves, which should of been for postman on table. would say its funny seeing your manager so pissed falling into tables.
