Going down in hours
Our office is just about to enter the new delivery system. At present i work 30 hours due to a buy down three and a half years ago when due to personal circumstances i needed more time at home to look after my late wife and children. The round i presently have (not for much longer ) is my own round. Due to the new duties I have been given ( no choice) a reserve duty which i am unhappy about as I no longer know my days off much in advance nor my start /finish times. I still have two children at school and one at college. I have 13 years experience . Should the part timers have had a re pick as some part timers have gone up in hours and some have been given duties that are less than their hours, will obviously be made up with other work. I would seriously consider going down in hours, but have been kept completely in the dark by my manager over the new duties.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Rep not great, rounds seem unmanageable, going above his head just thought i would post here first just to see if anyone could help in any way. union on conference this week so got to wait till next week.

Are you saying that the part-timers in your office were not involved in any re-pick ?

Full timers were involved in re pick. part time rounds for the most have changed in hours. we now have people that were doing 33 hours doing 30 hour 25 rounds and people that were doing 31 doing 30 and a half. they still have to work the hours of their previous contracts. a couple of part timers have also gone up in hours. If there was a re pick it was a hash up and I was not involved.

So full timer's took part in a re-pick, and part timers weren't involved ?

Ok cheers will do. It was just the fact that a lot of the part timers hours are all different.
