How do I leave the CWU?

I'm finding it quite difficult to leave, can someone tell me how to please? It seems a bit rude to just ask HR to stop the deductions.

We are already in a very big muddle despite being in the union

I know the union have let us down nationally, but with onset of the revision, it may not be the best time to go it alone.

I wouldn't blame anyone who did.
I think it's the wrong decision but i can fully understand why so many are making it.

have to look at royal-mail managers who attempt to sack staff every day.
it does seem our union is going through a nightmare period,but there are very good
unit reps and area reps who fight your cause everyday.

You don't have to go with a union rep, you can take anyone with you and if they know what they are doing you could well be better off than going with a bad rep!

That being said, if your local rep is good then they are worth thier weight in gold....IF they are good!

Possibly true on the conduct aspect, but not true for a Stage 1 or Stage 2 attendance interview. Your rep can make whatever arguments they want, but managers just look at the fact that the attendance standards have been breached, and issue the Stage automatically.

There is no longer any appeal allowed against the issue of stage 1's or 2's. And who negotiated-away the right of appeal against the first two stages of a process that can lead, ultimately, to dismissal ?

ive known posties who went to attendance meetings up to 3 on their own and got the boot first time on stage 3. 3 quid a week not bad insurance to take an area or div rep in with you at stage 3. they do these meetings week in week out and pick up a bit of expertise, surely?
