I already have a small allowance on my tax for travel expenses negoiated by the union i believe but aren't we also entitled to a deduction / rebate for washing our own uniform? any info would be welcome.

can i get any travel expenses back because i have 2 travel 18 miles 2 my office

No - unless you have been moved offices for operational reasons, and then AFAIK its only for a set period - 3 years IIRC.
