holiday entitlement question.

Post by themailman »

can anyone advise the rules as to how annual leave should be taken?
at the moment, we have 1 spring week, 2 summer weeks, and 1 winter week - the same as most offices i'd imagine.
so thats 4 weeks, plus 3-4 days as well as any days you get back for your day off falling on a bank holiday etc.
theres a bit of confusion in our office as to whether people are allowed to just 'cancel' their 4 weeks off and take every other fri/sat off thoughout the year instead. trying to get a straight answer on this is impossible. we have a revision coming up, and needless to say, if this practice is allowed, then its going to lead to loads of aggro if some people are forced to take their blocks of holidays whereas others can get more time off at the weekends. so whats the rules? :hmmmm

WTF!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

No manager in his right mind would agree to this garbage.
It would be a resourcing nightmare.
