Insufficient room in trolley pouches

So what do you do if you find that you cant get all the mail and packets on your trolley to get you round your shared van loop?
(a) Walk all the way back to the parked van and collect the rest of the loop then walk all the way back again
(b)Hang the additional pouches round your body which the defeats the object of the trolley

Sorry guys but Im gonna answer my own question.I think that you should tell your DOM that the idea is crap and that your fed up with wasted dead walking and that you want your bike back.

Whats the problem with dead walking then in this new delivering world of ours.
You only have to work until your finishing time and if your dom wants to waste your time dead walking, pulling a trolley or using your PDA, so what.
If the duty is too long, either book docket (if you want it) or Cut off, it really is that seemples.

why are you dead walking, surely your loop takes you from the van and then back to it continuosly delivering

Im fortunate (or is that unfortunate) enough to have done this delivery on a bike previously as well as with a trolley.It consists of lots of long driveways and tracks rather than short paths to the front doors.Royal Mail have managed to make hard work of something that to be honest wasnt.One customer looked at me in pure disbelief after I told her I had just pulled my trolley up the track to her house"Why wheres your bicycle?"I take your point about cutting off or booking it but after over 25 years in this job I just want to see some common sense not some money or free time

We just have to accept that it's going to take us longer to do the same job Scooby and adopt a new mind set.
RM are relying on old stalwarts like yourself having loyalty to their customers and "Trying" to go as fast with a Golf Trolley as you did on a bike.

What we've got to do is get to that point, in time, when we'd normally finish and CUT OFF! It should become apparent to even our Brain-Dead Management that this duty has obviously got; for example 1 1/2 hrs too much work.

If four or five posties in your Office did this they'd have enough work to "Create" another duty and they'd have to employ another Postie. Imagine that tactic rolled out through-out all 1500 DOs! RM would have to move the goal posts again to avoid creating so many Full Time Posties, and then you might get your bike back!

With the current attitude of the RM managers are you sure it wouldnt just be 4 or 5 posties from each DO made an example of?

I can pretty much guess his response to that......................loops should be 20 mins according to the original agreement and you can get 20 mins in an LCT.............you may not like it but it's here to stay.

We split the loop between the two of us and then split the following loop getting the duty back in sync .
