Every saturday off!

Some of our new duties post revision will get every saturday off but just for full timers.

Some of the part time job shares look pretty cushy too working half weeks.

Seems 28-32 hrs people are stuck with 1 in 6 saturdays off though.

Be interested to know if this setup is common in other offices?

Depending on what office you are at, yes.

Full timers who want Saturday's off will be achieved by part time staff who do not have a say, no matter how long they have been employed.

So full timers? United we stand or devided we fall?

I work 30 hours and have had 1 Saturday off since christmas. I would love to get 1 in 6 off. Getting seriously fed up with it.

same here. had 4 saturdays off in the 16 months i've been at RM. waste of space rep doesnt give a shat so what can you do...?

8 Years at RMail - except for annual leave I have not had a single saturday off in that time, even sickies.

Nope not all all.

Job before I had to work 1 in 2 Saturdays so better than here - but before that I was in Forces so a weekend off was a civilian perk I never even thought about much, got them of course but never worried about it when I didn't.

Well I am sorry but I think your reply is pathetic - you have obviously not read the thread. No one is complaining about working on Saturdays - they are complaining about not getting a fair distribution of them off. Yes your right working in a business that operates 6 days out of 7 we should expect to work at least some Saturdays, but it has to be passed around fairly.

When I for example joined Royal Mail, we only worked on a Saturday morning with a finishing time of 10:15am, not 3:00pm.

in my office we do 3 weeks on 1 week off so everybody get's 1 in 4 saturdays off if they want it

have to say it the best attendance pattern ever!

yes we do extra hours to fund the week off but boy is it worth it

In 18 years I have never had a Saturday off unless it was an official holiday like Christmas or one of my Annual Weeks off.

After a certain number of years you just get used to it, it would be nice to have more than 1 day off in a row like Saturday & Sunday.

Over the years I have had my day off set as Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, but Never a Monday or Saturday, so my weeks are just like a blur where nothing ever gets done.

The way things are currently looking we will all be Part Time and be greatfull we have a job in the current economic environment.

It's not too long ago we worked a 6 day week and everyone bar the very few had a saturday off. Now every full timer gets one in three off and every part timer works every saturday.

Im a part-timer & if i dont get the 1 in 4 Saturdays off i'll be slamming in a grievance.

Nothing in the agreement to say that 'we' will be working every Saturday.
