Increasing amount of recordeds/SDs?

Is anyone else getting more and more of these?

I used to hardly ever have to use a second delivery slip, now it's every other day. 14 today, 13 yesterday, had 19 one day last week

One and half packet bags now seems to be the norm as well. I find that these these two are the real time-killers on a round, rather than volume of mail. And yet, RM seems to take no account whatsoever of either. Just their made-up mail figures

I think it depends on the walk more than anything. I haven't had more than six (specials and recordeds combined) in a good while, but I have mostly been delivering in the less affluent areas of the world - to put it diplomatically.

I get 2 or 3 recordeds most days for same person can fill a card on busy days with recorded packets.Don't touch the SD's driver does them all.

Fewer Specials, (replaced by more Tracked) but more Recorded Deliveries.
Paypal insist ebay sellers use some form of signed for service.

My round is inner city. No professionals, semi-skilled at best (quite a few posties, sorry:), with loads of unfortunately unemployed/disability claimants. The round next to me is much posher and only gets half the packets/hardly any specials. Don't make no sense

It does L8. Your customers are spending taxpayers money and are at home all day on their government sponsered computers whereas the other round are all out at work trying to earn a crust.

Yes, yes, YES!

SD about the same maybe a few less but Rec has gone through the roof. About 6/8 was a heavy day for me but now its not unusual to get 12/15 most days. The vast majority appear to be coming from companies rather than ebayers.

I think its more to do with cashiers on the P.O counters being told they now have to push more services, so when someone comes in to send a packet say, they ask would you like to send it first class, second class, recorded or SD? Where as before they would just ask how would you like to send it? Thats what I have put it down to.

Standard retail practice now its called up selling.

You cant fault the selling! its rm thats not giving us the time to deliver it.

I think it depends on the area in which you work, when i did a town delivery i would often get 15 to 20 specials and recordeds another walk maybe 2 or 3.
you need to find a walk with non ebay buyers and in a poor area then you get less d2d as well.

Depending on various factors, Tracked can be cheaper then 2nd class

Think the average number of signatures on my walk has dropped a fraction over the last year, but I still regular top the daily figures for my section if not the depot's walking deliveries, setting a new high of 25 since January!
