Mails network & distribution
Air – Most of our air network operated well and to time. However the aircraft operating the flights from Edinburgh to East Midlands Airport and return to Edinburgh had to be replaced due to technical issues. As a result mail posted yesterday in Central Scotland and due for delivery today in Northern Ireland, the West of England, Wales, the Midlands and parts of Northern England may be delayed.

The same situation applies to mail posted yesterday in Northern Ireland, the West of England, Wales, the Midlands and parts of Northern England, due for delivery in Central Scotland which may also be delayed.

Rail - All services operated to time with no service affecting issues reported.

Road – A road service operating from our East London Distribution Centre to Gatwick Mail Centre was delayed due to road works in the Dartford Tunnel. As a result it is possible that some mail posted yesterday in some London postcodes due for delivery in BN and RH today may be delayed.

A late running road service from Bristol Mail Centre meant that connections were missed at East Midlands Airport for flights to Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness and Newcastle. Although this mail was diverted to alternative services it is possible that some mail posted yesterday in BA, BS and TA postcodes, due for delivery today in Scotland and the North East of England may be delayed.

Late arrival of road services from Chester and Preston Mail Centres at our National Distribution Centre at Daventry meant that some connections with other services were lost. As a result some mail posted yesterday in CH, LL, BB, FY, LA and PR postcodes, due for delivery in parts of London the South East, East Anglia and the Thames Valley may be delayed.
Distribution & vehicle centres – Apart from the above, all of our Distribution and Vehicle Centres operated as planned, supporting out network.

Road – Road congestion around Manchester last night meant a road service from the Manchester Mail Centre missed a connection at East Midlands Airport for Exeter. This may result in some mail posted yesterday in M, SK, BL and OL postcode areas, due for delivery today in parts of the South West of England being delayed.

The same congestion resulted in the late arrival of some services at the National Distribution Centre (NDC) at Daventry, which may mean some mail posted yesterday, in M, SK, BL and OL postcode areas, for delivery today in parts of the South East, London, and Anglia being delayed.
