Suggest you try Amazon

But make sure you get it first class as TNT (total nuts transport) have the 2nd class contract and you won't get it before christmas.

cheers for that. just been looking on amazon site. they do stock it. yes i will make sure it's first class. i want to read it sometime in this millenium.

A classic mate! I'm half way through re-reading 'The Intellectual Life of the British Working Classes' by Jonathan Rose after recommending it to nelson a while ago. Very inspirational stuff on how ordinary working men and women overcame all sorts of obstacles and educated themselves. After that, I've got 'A History of Modern Britain' by Andrew Marr and 'James Larkin - Lion of the Fold' by Donal Nevin which I had recommended by an Irishman who says Nevin is a very good author. Larkin was born in Liverpool and was a member of the IWW, but I know little about him.
I'll have a look at that Alan Clinton book though. It sounds like something I would enjoy.

Thanks mate. I've ordered it from Amazon Marketplace. I'll be a while getting around to reading it though. The Larkin book is about 500 pages of tiny print.

I ordered the book on Thursday afternoon, and it arrived this morning by Royal Mail. Just the level of sevice the country will be saying goodbye to once Leighton and Crozier have finished 'modernising' it.
Interesting to see attitudes amongst 'managers' hasn't changed since the 1840s "the union must be crippled at all cost".

It's a huge book though. Slightly larger than A5 and over 700 pages. The catalogue has some interesting books for anyone interested in labour history.

I noticed in the book i recomended that industrial disputes in RM and trying to break the union seem to have happened since the dawn of time.

It all sounds too high brow for me - I struggle to get through the Dandy by the time the next one arrives - but I DO like those maggers with pictures not too stretching - well when I say not too stretching.................
